Cleaning and Maintaining your Spa or Hot Tub

NOTE: FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE STEPS BELOW MAY RESULT IN EQUIPMENT DAMAGE!

Before performing any type of tub maintenance, you should always do the following:

1. Turn thermostat to the off position or to its lowest heat setting.
2. Turn power to the tub off.

Restarting your tub:

1. Make sure thermostat is turned down
2. Start tub and let all trapped air pockets purge before turning up thermostat. This may take several minutes.

Filter removal and installation: (Canister type filters)

1. Close both valves on each side of filter.
2. Turn filter nut counterclockwise until it slides down.
3. Remove filter from housing.
4. Clean filter with cartridge filter cleaner.
5. Reinstall filter into housing.
6. Reposition filter housing and turn filter nut clockwise until tight.
7. Open both valves on each side of filter.
8. Turn power back on.

Chemical Maintenance;

Initial Fill

1. Add 1 quart of PH balance to fresh water.
2. Add 1 capful of spa shock.
3. Add one capful of clarifier.
4. Add one chemical floater with bromine tabs

Every 2 weeks

1. Remove and clean filter.
2. Add 1 capful of spa shock.
3. Add 1 capful of clarifier.
4. Fill floater with bromine tabs.

Every 3 months

1. Drain and fill spa.
2. Follow directions for initial fill.
